Biography: Boyd Davis has spent his career in chemical process development. After completing his BSc in Engineering Chemistry and MSc and PhD in Metallurgical Engineering (Queen\u2019s), he consulted in computational thermochemistry and then founded Kingston Process Metallurgy with his tireless partner, Alain Roy, in 2002. Over close to 25 years, the company has grown to about 150 people with facilities in Kingston and Montreal and has worked across the periodic table, with a focus on integration of economics and deep technical understanding, helping several companies to commercialize. <\/p>

Boyd has kept active with the education of KPM\u2019s employees as well as volunteering as an adjunct at Queen\u2019s where he has supervised over two dozen grad students and lectures when called upon, including over 20 years teaching processing as part of the Mine Basics Group. He has been active with MetSoc with two terms on the board and chaired the 2014 Conference of Metallurgists. Boyd also initiated the Extraction series between MetSoc\/TMS\/SME and co-chaired the first event in 2018 and developed the Value Chain Investor Series for MetSoc. The current project is an educational series for chemical engineers working in metallurgy. <\/p>

His many \u201cworkations\u201d have taken him to over 50 countries in 6 continents including memorable times in the Atacama Desert, on the Trans-Siberian Railway, and in the French Alps and he is excited for more with his unwaveringly supportive wife, Helen, and two entrepreneurial daughters, Bryn and Ashra.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
