In recognition of outstanding contributions to Light Metals and Materials Development and Processing, and significant, impactful engagement within the Materials Community.<\/p>

Dr. Abdallah Elsayed completed his undergraduate, masters and PhD degrees in mechanical engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) with a research focus on light metal solidification and characterisation. He then worked as a Research and Development Engineer at Nemak Canada Corporation in Windsor, Ontario a leading global supplier of aluminum automotive powertrain components. He joined the University of Guelph in 2017 where he is now an Associate Professor with a research focus on solidification, advanced manufacturing and development of materials for the automotive, biomedical and environmental sectors. Abdallah has nearly 60 journal publications, two patents and one book chapter. Abdallah is a professional engineer, chair of the Metsoc Light Metals Section, chair of the ASM Ontario Chapter as well as member of TMS. Abdallah was the recipient of the John Ogilvie Research Innovation Award in 2025, 2023 University of Guelph Faculty Association Distinguished Professor Award for Excellence in Teaching in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, 2022 recipient of the ASM Bronze Medal, 2020 recipient of the ASM Bradley Stoughton Award for Young Teachers, 2020 TMS Light Metals Division Young Leaders Professional Development Award winner and selected as a Metsoc Emerging Professional in 2020. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Le prix Brimacombe est destin\u00e9 \u00e0 r\u00e9compenser les membres de MetSoc en d\u00e9but de carri\u00e8re qui ont apport\u00e9 une contribution remarquable dans l’une des disciplines scientifiques et technologiques relevant de MetSoc.<\/p>

La pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence sera donn\u00e9e \u00e0 une personne ayant d\u00e9montr\u00e9 sa capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 collaborer avec toutes les parties de la communaut\u00e9 de la m\u00e9tallurgie et des mat\u00e9riaux.<\/p>

Tous les candidats doivent \u00eatre membres de l’Institut depuis au moins trois ans et \u00eatre en r\u00e8gle. Les contributions et l’impact doivent \u00eatre au b\u00e9n\u00e9fice du Canada.<\/span><\/p>
