Doumaz is an international research master\u2019s student in Mineral Engineering at Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec en Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue in Rouyn-Noranda, Qu\u00e9bec. She is currently conducting research on the performance of arsenic treatment processes in alkaline effluents generated from the alkaline-sulfide leaching of copper sulfide concentrates using precipitation, sorption, and ion exchange techniques. Apr\u00e8s ses \u00e9tudes, il a travaill\u00e9 dans une aci\u00e9rie de l'Utah, mais \u00e0 l'automne 1950, il est retourn\u00e9 \u00e0 l'Universit\u00e9 de la Colombie-Britannique (UBC) pour y r\u00e9diger une th\u00e8se de ma\u00eetrise \u00e8s sciences appliqu\u00e9es (M.Sc.A.) intitul\u00e9e \u00ab La lixiviation de l'uranium \u00e0 partir de minerais de pechblende \u00bb. Il a ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 embauch\u00e9 comme ing\u00e9nieur de recherche par la Consolidated Mining and Smelting Co. Ltd. (aujourd'hui Cominco Ltd.) \u00e0 Trail, en Colombie-Britannique. Il est retourn\u00e9 \u00e0 l'UBC en 1953 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une bourse de Cominco et a soutenu sa th\u00e8se de doctorat en 1956, intitul\u00e9e \u00ab L'activation homog\u00e8ne de l'hydrog\u00e8ne mol\u00e9culaire par les esp\u00e8ces cuivriques en solution aqueuse \u00bb. Apr\u00e8s avoir obtenu son doctorat, il a travaill\u00e9 pour Union Carbide Co. \u00e0 Niagara Falls, en Ontario, jusqu'en 1958, date \u00e0 laquelle il a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 professeur adjoint au d\u00e9partement des mines et de la m\u00e9tallurgie de l'UBC.        Par la suite, il a consacr\u00e9 ses recherches \u00e0 l\u2019hydrom\u00e9tallurgie avec le professeur Frank Forward comme mentor.\n<br><br>Son h\u00e9ritage demeure immense dans la communaut\u00e9 de l\u2019hydrom\u00e9tallurgie au Canada et \u00e0
